Recipe: Cinnamon Raisin French Toast
CINNAMON RAISIN FRENCH TOAST
PREP TIME: 5 MINUTES
COOK TIME: 15 MINUTES
READY TO EAT: 20 MINUTES
INGREDIENTS -
6 slices of cinnamon raisin bread
2 large eggs
2/3 cup of almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
1 tablespoon of LIVA Raw Date Sugar (other personal favourites: coconut sugar, brown sugar)
1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg (optional)
1/8 of salt (or to taste)
butter or oil for the pan
extra optional toppings: maple syrup, fresh fruit, chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS -
STEP 1: In a bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 2/3 cups of almond milk, 1 tablespoon of LIVA Raw Date Sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, pinch of salt.
STEP 2: Heat your pan, skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, add the butter or oil. I used Earth Balance butter because I like the extra crunch/crispy factor it gives on the edges of the toast.
STEP 3: Place each slice of the cinnamon raisin bread in egg mixture, ensuring that both sides are soaked.
STEP 4: Place in pan, and cook on both sides until a beautiful golden brown.
STEP 5: Serve with your toppings of choice and enjoy!
