Hello! My name is Chiantelle.
10 Maybe Not-So-Random Facts:
I am 100% Filipina born in Saudi Arabia and call Vancouver, B.C. my home.
I’m the eldest of four (two brothers and one sister) and the shortest when it comes to height. To those wondering, I’m 5’2 and a bit.
When I was in elementary school, I wrote in my “About Me” booklet that I wanted to become a pastry chef, an event planner (specifically for weddings), and a paediatrician. Note that I said “and” and not “or.” Ambitious? Yes. It’s interesting how life turns out though because I’m more or less doing something similar which brings us to the next two facts.
I am a WPIC certified wedding consultant and coordinator. As cliché as it may sound/probably is, The Wedding Planner movie with J. Lo sparked this dream that I finally and officially made into a reality in Autumn of 2017. I mean, let’s be real - her wedding coordinator outfit set the standard and her note about brown M&Ms made a lot of sense.
I can talk A LOT about food. From restaurants and food events to nutrition and recipes, you can follow my adventures on Chia’s Eats. Seriously, if I was given the opportunity to just travel and eat, I will. I'm actually studying to become a holistic nutritionist so keep an eye out for that!
In 2015, I joined my first pageant (Miss, Mrs and Miss Teen BC) and received the regional titleholder of Miss Greater Vancouver. In 2016, I took my platform nationally by participating in the Miss Earth Canada Pageant where I received two titles: Miss Earth British Columbia and the special award of Beauty For A Cause. I utilize my platforms to emphasize the importance of holistic nutrition and self-care, as well as supporting local, eco-sustainability, community, and all things health and wellness.
Three trips/experiences that have contributed in shaping and expanding my worldview are: spending four weeks on the island of Kaua’i, six weeks in Israel and Palestine, and sixteen weeks in London, UK. There are other experiences in my life where I didn’t have to travel far that are pivotal in shaping who I am but these three trips were something else. If you’re interested, send me an email and we can talk more about it!
Out of all the seasons, Autumn/Fall is my absolute favourite. I love the colours, the sweaters and scarves, and the cool crisp air. Plus, I find it easier to warm up than it is to cool down.
My favourite animals are: elephants, pandas, and penguins.
